My Youth Group Lessons

Hey here is some great advice from my mentor in health Marty Eyre. Some of it has been edited but i have kept the basic message. Enjoy the read as i believe YOUTH HEALTH means YOUTH BEAUTY

Peter Snell - heart disease?

There is an increase in evidence showing an association between excercising hardout and damaged hearts.

New Zealands greatest athlete, Sir Peter Snell, has been stopped in his tracks with heart problems.
Even though his heart is large due to a lifetime of cardio exercise it can only pump out a third of what it should

Not everything we believe is true and we must relook at and correct our belief system.
Here are some examples of incorrect things we need to correct
a)Exercise is good for your heart.
b)So... exercising harder must be even better!
c)And then... when I can do that, I'll exercise even harder which will be even better than that!!

There are studies done that show small areas of cell death in the heart during pro-longed extreme workouts.

Im not saying that excercise isnt good for you. What i am suggesting is keep your exercise in perspective. Most people think especially if you are really big that you have to exercise to lose your weight but i would cut out carbohydrates until i got down to a level where i could do light exerciise like walking maybe 2 to 3 times a week so that it wouldnt be to hard on my body.

I have found that cutting out carbs helps the body release some of that energy you have been collecting(body fat).
Carbs raise blood sugar which triggers the release of insuln which prevents you burning fat for fuel.
Your muscle cells will finally get a decent feed.
You'll loose your craving for bread and cookies and you'll get your energy back.
And then.... guess what?
You'll actually feel like doing something physical (It's your bodies way of burning off all that excess energy)

The first carbohydrates I would introduce back into my diet would be the low calorie vegetables like broccolli, cauliflower, asparagus etc.
Then berries and nuts.
Then fruit.
Lastly (and only if I really needed it to fuel a big exercise program) the high calorie stuff like bread, pasta, spuds, kumara, rice etc.

It's all about balance.

Have a great day
Marty.

Youth Group Lessons-Fountain of Youth

" Is there a fountain of youth? Does it exist?"

Well i beleive that the fountain of youth exists but you will never find it in an earthly sense. Have i ever searched for the fountain of youth? Yes I have but not in the way where you have to travel worldwide searching for this fountain somewhere situated in a deep dark forest where you walk through dense bush and then suddenly find an opening that leads you to this beautiful golden water gushing fountain where if you just dip your hand in you will be transformed into...well never mind but i hope you get the picture.

Where have i found this Fountain of Youth. Well i will tell you where i found it. Why it is in Kaitaia, a town in the far north of New Zealand. Its all around us in the youth that are walking the streets to school, or sitting in Body Buzz every Wedsnesday ,sitting in groups in town when they are bored the fountains of youth are everywhere.

This fountain of youth i also found is within me. I began to remember that young person i was once and what youth group lesson that i would have liked to have been taught to me . I began to think like a youth and i started feeling invigorated ,i began to feel challenged it made me see the value that thinking about youth can have on you. I saw the changes that happen to a person when they start planning lessons for youth or planning family days with the youth in mind. The thing is that they started looking younger and more vibrant . They started looking like people you wanted to be around. They started attracting youth to them like a magnet.

My sister Carolyn Saulo is an example of this, don't get me wrong, she finds it hard and challenging but that fountain of youth in her just won't stop flowing. She will just keep looking vibrant and attracting goodness to herself because the fountain of youth is within her just as i have it within me . The fountain of youth is within all but not all find it.

The Youth Group Lesson i have found today is the value of having that vibrancy and feeling of being young imparted to me from our youthgroup FLAUNT STYLEZ.

They keep adding value to me so that it outflows back to them

Our Youth Group Shabbat

What is a youth group lesson that you can gain out of Shabbat.
There are many lessons but however we only want to focus on one lesson today. That lesson is the lesson of unity.

Of course the picture is displaying the word FLAUNT which is the name of the youth group that we are helping to mentor. Some of these youth attend Shabbat every Saturday and rather than teaching unity we make sure we we are a people who unite together every Shabbat from the youngest to the elders.

Most times we have found that example and actions speak louder than words and then after that comes a youth group lesson.
Today the example of unity has been in full force, we have met together, discussed scripture and how our lives can benefit from them, we have discussed how valuable our youth are to us and how much value they have given to us, then ended with lunch and a few wines. Well the alcohol area is another youth group lesson that i will discuss at another time.

What we do want is for our youth to FLAUNT a lifestyle that attracts others to them. That they value themselves more and more and that way the value of others will rise above their own.

This youth group lesson is of great value to them as well as to the group of mentors

Youth group lessons

My name is Moana Ashley and i have been involved giving Youth Group Lessons for many years. I've found it very challenging yet very rewarding. I have gained personal value mentoring youth through a part of their lives. Its given me the confidence , courage and strength to grow in other areas of my life. This has given me the ability to see that our youth of today are empowering their mentors with relationship skills that are needed to be dynamic in this day and age.Tell them how much value you have been given through being a mentor to them. Everyone needs to know how appreciated they are and in these days with so much hype about the downfall and lack of respect our youth have for the older generation why should we as mentors go and join with all that hype.Lets think out of the box and teach our youth that they give us value. We become responsible to personally develop our lives to impart to them the best of ourselves.
This is 1 youth group lesson i have taught our group . We can find many stories on troubled youth and how many parents are becoming frightened by the lack of respect youth show towards them today . What we dont want we are getting ,so lets renew our minds and focus on what we do want. What we do want is a youth group lesson in value. Everyone deserves to know how to value themseves. All that matters is what they know they truely are which is a person of great value.
It’s always important to become a student of personal development so that you can always offer value to those that are around you. Personal development always has the ability to make you feel that you have something worth giving away especially in these days when it seems that nothing is free. Giving away some of those tips that you have within you helps keep you connected to your friends and family but not only that it makes you worth wanting to know by others. Everyone seems to be drawn to you ,why, well because you have value and you have added value to yourself because you are willing to personally develop yourself.
3 things to remember when offering Value is this
1)People are always wanting to know how to2)Always review what others and yourself are saying3)Keep Training Your Mindset.
There are many Youth group Lessons out there , many mentors, many role models, many services, many personal development programmes but at the end of the day all our youth want to know is you. You are the important factor to everything and that is why i am introducing myself to you the reader. I have taught youth group lessons and been taught youth group lessons. This might sound funny but to me makes sense. It is the never ending cycle of giving and recieving. Without the youth im left only with group lessons but the lessons i want to teach are youth group lessons and that journey is like taking a roller coaster ride. Im excited by life and im excited by how our youth have become excited .They are seeing hope for their dreams and futures. The name of our Youth Group is Flaunt Stylez and you can connect with them on Facebook.
